Dear Lisa and Terry and family,
I was heartbroken to hear of your dad’s passing. Over the past few years, I had the privilege of getting to know Terry during my visits with my mom, Jackie, which often coincided with his visits with your mom at Albright. He always greeted us with a warm smile and a ‘namaste’ with hands together and a bow for my mom, which she always reciprocated. Your dad had a way of making people feel welcome, valued and seen.
What stood out most to me was his unwavering devotion, patience, and commitment to Judy. Everything he did was infused with love—spending time with her, taking her on walks, dining with her, ensuring her comfort, brushing her hair and making her room the most cheerful on the 5th floor! They were truly soulmates.
Terry always looked in on my mom, so when I visit my mom, I’ll look in on Judy in his memory.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Carla Mackie and Jackie Gwisdek
When you lose a father, you also lose something inside you forever. You lose a piece of your heart and it will never be the same again. You will forever ache. You will forever mourn. Because when you lose a father, you also lose half of yourself.
Dad loved his family and his Habs amongst many other things. We won’t ever forget our memories and time together and are all better for the time we had with him.
Love you dad.
