As a new member of the family I was nervous about finding common ground. Grandma and I quickly bonded in the haven that was her quilting room. She shared her past, present, and future projects with me, as well as so many tips for my own projects. I'll always cherish my moments with her: comparing recipes, sharing a glass of wine with an ice cube each, trips to the store. She made me feel loved and welcomed in her home and in her family. It was such an honour to be a part of her story right until her final days. I love you, Grandma.
