Obituary of Linda Alleblas
Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Linda Alleblas (Nyby), 66, of Caistor Centre, March 14th, 2019. She was born to the late Vagn and Ruth Nyby, October 25, 1952 in Horsens, Denmark and moved to Canada at the age of 5. Living in Rockwood, Acton and Stratford, she settled in Caistor with beloved husband, Bert on their dairy farm. Linda spent nearly 48 wonderful married years with the love of her life, and is survived by Bert. She is also survived by 2 children, Jason (Vicki) and Nicki (Owen Manley) of whom she was very proud and sacrificed her hairdressing career to raise. She is survived by her sister Joanne (Murray Packham) and brother Paul (Karen) and will also be missed by family in Denmark, especially close cousin Bjarne. Linda adored her four grandchildren, being Grammy to Selah, Aidan, Connor and Farmor to Danica; she loved playing cards and games with them and making them dance with her to The Beatles. Linda was known for being one of the most kind, caring and friendliest people you could ever meet. She was always searching for someone getting married or having a baby so she could gift her beautiful blankets away. She loved spending her afternoons listening to her favourite tunes (blasted too loud for everyone else) and admiring her garden’s flowers, catching up with friends and family over the phone and sitting out back with Bert to admire the surrounding nature. She was happiest spending time with family and having a good laugh together. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19th from 5-7 p.m. at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville. The funeral ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 20th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the burial to follow at Ker United Church in Caistor so she can rest beside her loving parents. Donations to Smokers Helpline, a division of Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and if desired can be made through the funeral home.
