CAVERS, IRMA:  Peacefully at McNally House Hospice with family at her side on Sunday, January 21, 2018, Irma Mae Cavers (nee Hartnett) passed away at the age of 86.  Beloved wife of the late John Frederick Cavers (2016).  Loving mother of Bryan Cavers (Barbara), Brad Cavers (Darlene), Barry Cavers (Sandy), Arlene Leech (Ken), and Mel Cavers (Cheryl).  Cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.  Dear sister of the late Lloyd Hartnett (the late Rose) and Arnold Hartnett (the late Kazuko), and sister-in-law of Joyce Smith.  Also predeceased by brothers-in-law Bill, Gordon (the late Nellie), and Clarence, sister-in-law Margaret von Bargen (the late Dieter), daughter-in-law Clara Cavers, and loving great-grandson Ethan Brown.  Irma will be fondly remembered for her baking cookies, monkey bread, and knitting slippers for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Amanda Marrone for all her excellent care, support and compassion.  Words cannot express our thanks to the wonderful nurses, volunteers and staff at McNally House Hospice.  Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Tuesday, January 23 from 6-8  p.m.  The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 24 with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. and the service following at 11 a.m.  Interment Bismark United Church Cemetery. Memorial donations to McNally House would be appreciated by the family and if desired can be made through the funeral home.
