Obituary of Allard Colyn

COLYN, ALLARD:  Peacefully at Shalom Manor on Monday, September 25, 2017, the Lord called home His child Allard (Allentinus) Colyn at the age of 80.  Married 58 years to the love of his life Imie Colyn (nee Douma).  Loving father of Randy Colyn (Wendy), Karen Tigchelaar (Ken), Henry Colyn (Tonny), and Dan Colyn (Lynn).  Cherished by his grandchilden Jenelle Vanderwier (Jeremy), Tarin Moesker (Levi), Braden Colyn, Jesse Colyn, Amy Vandermeer (Josh), Katelyn Tigchelaar, Aron Tigchelaar (Ashley), Paul Tigchelaar (Sarah), Kirsti Colyn, Lindsay Colyn, Melanie Colyn, Olivia Colyn, and Paige Colyn and great grandchildren Mason, Logan, Hayden, Ari, Axl, Bryson, and Noah.  Dear brother of Bill Colyn (Margaret), Annie VanderMeulen (Jake), the late Joanne Knevel (the late Henk), John Colyn (Mary), and Gerda Vanderkloet (Andy).  Allard enjoyed serving his community as an Alderman and Mayor of West Lincoln, and on the boards of West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and Shalom Manor.  Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Wednesday, September 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at Fruitland Christian Reformed Church, 805 Hwy 8, Stoney Creek on Thursday, September 28 at 11 a.m.  Interment at Lane's Cemetery, St. Anns will precede the service.  If desired, memorial donations to Shalom Manor can be made through the funeral home.
