I am very saddened by the news of my best friend Murray Bowman I am a client that Brain injury community reentry and Murray and I have been very close buddies for many many years ever since I first came into Brain injury community reentry I was 16 years old then I was the first and youngest person to be accepted into Brain injury community reentry Murray and I have had a very loving and caring relationship with each other over the years dances with Halloween parties dances at Christmas gatherings and most of all he also painted a picture for my ex husband and I of a tree. I would love to share this with the family but I don't have any way to get to the celebration service as I live in St Catharines and do not have a vehicle. I would love to give my condolences to Marie Bowman's family friends and loved ones and also to let them know that Murray is one of the greatest gift I ever had in my life he is seen my son grow up over the years and him and I have had a very special relationship with each other best friends forever I say and he would say that too. I was the only person that danced with him when he was in his wheelchair I used to help them stand up when he was able to before his strokes many years back. I'd still love to stand there and dance with him this coming Christmas but I know it's going to be my first Christmas and Halloween without him coming up I had a great appreciation for the person Murray was and still is in my memory forever more it is in my memory for years to come my name is Melissa Kerton and my sons name is Joshua Kerton you can contact us directly by telephone number 289-213-3980 or by my other email mlks1976@hotmail.com
I always enjoyed my visits with Murray. He would do his Groucho Marx impression after making a pun or a silly joke.
Murray was a great person to know. He loved the arts and shared his love of the arts encouragingly with others. Murray even did a character drawing of me in 2006 which is displayed on my wall.
Murray also loved the Lord and attended church faithfully as he was able. He was even sprinkled baptized with water our pastor brought home from the Bible lands.
Murray was the kind of man who didn't let disappointments in life stop him from moving forward. He was a blessing to so many.

I was privileged to grow up in such an artistic, music filled generation, right in the hub of it all was Grimsby and Murray. His spirit and life for the arts was so unique and beautiful. He was a gentle spirit always so kind and genuine. My fondest memory was our Grimsby High School Reunion, the music and the friendships that were rekindled and the music that oozed from and around Murray was unforgettable. Murray was truly one of a kind and will be sadly missed.
My prayers go out to his family and friends. May he join those have gone before him in that great musician band in the heavens, it is much richer now.

Murray has moved on to that great artists studio in the ether. I first learned of his love of art when I asked when this affection with brush and canvas began. Murray said, it was the smell of the great art books in the Grimsby Library.
I'd never experienced the blues truly until I was fortunate to hear Murray, who I didn't know at the time, playing the infamous Vox guitar ("with the high action") on the back of a flatbed In a field atop the Grimsby Escarpment.
Visiting Senor Bowman last June at Linhaven after too long a hiatus, I was overcome by a couple of things. #1, though Murray's speech was challenged, his eyes and his heart tied the few decipherable words together, yeah, he was there alright. The other important item, was written in an article on the wall in his room. To paraphrase, " I got more out of working with disabled children than all the music and painting. " Rose and I will ever be thankful for the great meeting of the Murrays, my late father who brought Mr. B. to our wedding and immediately became friends. When he sang "Summertime" it was like it never sung before. I hope everyone who knew him will keep a piece of his kind, dynamic spirit to take you through the tough times. If you listen carefully to the wind you may hear Murray response to Junior Wells' call " Snatch it back and hold it...."
Murray was an amazing talent! He was a gentleman with a tender heart! His fight for life was extraordinary! Deepest condolences to his family. Rest in peace.
Murray Bowman will be missed by all that have known him. He made an impression during his life with us growing up as an artist and musician. Rest In Peace my friend .
