Obituary of John Frederick Cavers

CAVERS, JOHN FREDERICK (Fred): It's with saddened hearts we announce the loss of a loved man at Edgewater Gardens on Friday the 12th of February, 2016 at the age of 92. He leaves behind his beloved wife Irma (Hartnett) of 67 years. Loving father of Bryan (Barb), Brad (Darlene), Barry (Sandy), Arlene Leech (Ken), and Mel (Cheryl). Left to cheer the Maple Leafs on in grandpa's absence are 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Missed by sisters-in-law Jean Cavers, Joyce Smith and brother-in-law Arnold Hartnett. Predeceased by brothers Bill, Gordon (the late Nellie), and Clarence, sister Margaret von Bargen (the late Dieter), daughter-in-law Clara Cavers, sisters-in-law Rose and Kazuko Hartnett, brother-in-law Lloyd Hartnett, and loving great grandson Ethan Brown. Words cannot express our thanks to the wonderful staff at Edgewater Gardens for their care, support and compassion during Fred's stay. Hugs for you. Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Tuesday, February 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 17 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Bismarck Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to The Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
