POOLE, FRANK: With heavy hearts we announce the passing of husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend Frank Poole on Monday, August 3, 2015 at McNally House Hospice. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Nancy (nee Reaume), sons David (Lisa) and Greg (fiancee Anna), and grandchildren Michael and Kevin. Predeceased by sister Myra Masterson and brother Allan Poole. Frank grew up in Schumacher, Ontario and graduated from the University of Waterloo and from Mimico Teachers' College. During his career in Oakville, he taught every grade from kindergarten to grade 13. He believed strongly in the power of fun in the classroom and insisted that his students set very high standards. His math classes at Blakelock High School were especially popular. Frank was the first president of Smithville Kinsmen Club and also served as president of the Grimsby Curling Club. He loved starting his weeks as a volunteer on Monday mornings at McNally House Hospice where he earned his title as "The Biscuit Man". He was a great cook, gardener, artist and family man and shared his talents generously. "He always tried to do his best". A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 216 Station Street, Smithville on Monday, August 10 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Luke's Anglican Church or McNally House Hospice would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
