Obituary of Murray Benjamin Comfort

COMFORT, MURRAY:  At Hamilton General Hospital on Tuesday, October 16, 2007, Murray Benjamin Comfort of Smithville in his 84th year.  Beloved husband of Marjorie Evelyn Comfort (nee Young) for over 58 years.  Loving father of Elaine (Martin Hay), Bill, and Janice (John Campbell).  Cherished by his granddaughters Samantha, Ashley, Melissa, Taylor and Amy.  Fondly remembered by step-grandsons Jeffrey and Jonathan.  Murray was a lifelong member of Smithville United Church.  With his partner Royal Tylee, together they operated Comfort & Tylee Ltd for 50 years.  Murray enjoyed and competed in both hockey and baseball in his younger years.  In his later years his passion and pastime was golf right to the end.  Also surviving is his sister Dorothy (Harold Davis) and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his sister Isabel and her husband Walter Tuck.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 19 at 11 am at Smithville United Church, 116 West Street (Regional Road 20) in Smithville.  Inurnment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date.  If desired, memorial contributions to the Smithville United Church or West Lincoln Memorial Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
