BEAMER, HAROLD:  Peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, Harold Lyle Beamer passed away after a courageous battle with cancer in his 62nd year.  Harold was the beloved husband and best friend of June Beamer (nee Lounsbury) for over 36 years.  He was a loving son to his parents Lyle Beamer and the late Vera Beamer (nee Beaty), a devoted father to Douglas (Stacey Morrison), Christopher (Tammy Laprise) and Bradley (Leah Camacho), and cherished grandfather to Rylan.  He will also be dearly missed by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Barbara and Gary DeGrow and Marilyn and Benny D'Alessio, and his nieces and nephews.  Harold had retired from Orchard Park High School in Stoney Creek after 31 years of teaching.  Friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  The funeral service will be held at Smithville United Church, 116 West Street (Regional Road 20) in Smithville on Friday, July 13th at 11 am.  Private family interment at the church's adjoining cemetery will precede the service.   A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Stephen Taylor who stood by Harold during his illness; to the nurses of St. Elizabeth's, VON and ParaMed and especially to Leona, Belinda and Maria for their care and compassion; to Paola and Carma, his case managers at CCAC for making so many arrangements possible; and to the Reverends Dale Massender, Ron Pocklington and Gary Patterson for their faithful prayers and spiritual guidance.  If desired, memorial contributions to the Smithville United Church, CCAC Niagara or Sleeping Children of the World would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
