SOMMER, DIETER: Peacefully, at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, September 6, 2006, in his 71st year. Dieter is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Trudy (nee Wilhelm) and will live on by his loving children Sonya, Roy and his wife Donna, Gary and his wife Joanne, Peter and his love Haylie, and his precious grandchildren Joseph, Jennifer, Jessica, Kimberly, Katherine, Victoria and Isabelle. Survived by his brother Siegfried Eisenmann and loving wife Almut and their children Werner, Ruth and Almut Jr. and grandchildren. Also survived by his loving and ever devoted companion, Sadie, his German Shepherd Dog. Dieter was a 40 year employee (retired) of Stelco where he made many long-lasting friendships. Being an avid soccer fan where he can now have a front row seat to any game, Dieter coached and refereed many children and he was an inspiration to all. He loved and lived life to the fullest and had no fear for any new challenge that life presented to him. Dieter's family would like to thank the kind and thorough care given to him by Dr. Ginsburg and Dr. Zeyl and also to the gentleness and care given to him by the nurses at the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the West Lincoln Memorial Auxiliary in Grimsby, and this can be done through Merritt Funeral Home. May you rest in peace Dad and we'll see you again!!
