TOPP, MERLE: Peacefully with his family by his side at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 20, 2014, Audree Merle Topp passed away in his 81st year. Beloved husband for 56 years of Lorraine Topp (nee Garinger). Much loved father to Lori Alampi (Frank) and Kevin Topp (Renee). Cherished grandfather of Lucas, Emily, Avery and Rowan. Dear brother of Irvine (Marion). He will also be missed by his nephew Darren. Merle was a longtime area poultry farmer and owner-operator of A. W. Topp & Sons Feed Mill Ltd in Silverdale. He was also a past Charter Member of Smithville & District Lions Club, a longtime member of Gainsborough Men's Bowling League, and member of the Elmgrove Hunt Club. Merle enjoyed his many memorable moments with his family and friends at the family cottage. Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Wednesday, April 23 from 7-9 pm, and also on Thursday, April 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Anns Community Church, 5425 Twenty Mile Road (Regional Rd 69), St Anns on Friday, April 25 at 11 am. Private interment at Lane's Cemetery, St. Anns. If desired, memorial donations to West Lincoln Community Care would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
