SYER, Nellie Pearl (nee Patterson): Passed away on September 25, 2014. Born February 11, 1920. Graduate of Loretto Abbey in 1938. Predeceased by loving husband George William Syer, survived by daughters Mary Elizabeth Syer Kostiuck (Robert) and Laurie Ann Syer. Backbone of the St. Luke’s (Smithville) Parish Women’s Guild for 50 years. Longtime member of Smithville Historical Society. Quilter Extraordinaire and one of the leading members of the St. Luke’s Anglican Parish Quilting Guild. Longtime member of the Smithville painting and art community. Local historian and genealogist. Following her wishes, no visitation and cremation with a private family only interment at a later date. No flowers please. Our deepest gratitude to the Albright Manor staff, especially the third floor team, for the unwavering love, care, attention and community that they provided for the last years of our mother’s life. If desired, memorial donations to St. Luke's Anglican Church or the West Lincoln Historical Society can be made through the funeral home.
