Obituary of Willis Malcolm Moffatt

MOFFATT, WILLIS:  At Ridgeview Long Term Care in Stoney Creek on Sunday, November 9, 2014, Willis Malcolm Moffatt passed away in his 88th year.  Beloved husband of the late Faye Moffatt (1998).  Loving father of Kathy Reid (David), Donna Santarossa (Erwin Jahnke), Donald Moffatt (Cathy), Wendy Moffatt, Ruth Moffatt (Jim Howden), Roy Moffatt and also Debbie Ruhloff.  Cherished grandfather of Nicole Dufour (Vince), Joel Santarossa, Aaron and Lauren Jahnke, Mary Reid, Kyle Moffatt (Jennifer), Kevin, Kris and Kelly Moffatt, and Charlotte, James, Rachael and Kate Moffatt, and of 8 great grandchildren.  Also survived by his sister Laverda Donovan and sister-in-law Carol Halliday.  Predeceased by parents Lorris and Mary Moffatt, brother-in-law Murray Donovan, brother Ray Moffatt, sister-in-law Dorothy Moffatt, and grandchildren Joshua Moffatt and Ester Reid.  He will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.  Willis trucked for over 50 years and lived on and ran the family farm his whole life in Grassie, Ontario. Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday, November 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 14 at 11 am with interment at Queen’s Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby.   The family wishes to thank the staff of Ridgeview Long Term Care Centre where he has been living since January 2009.  A great lover of animals, memorial donations to your local SPCA or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
