KRUEGER, Harvey:  Passed away peacefully at Albright Manor, surrounded by his family on March 21, 2014 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Ruby (Rechsteiner). Loving father of Beverly Zalec (John), John Krueger (Lynn), Donna Townsend and Carol Halford. Cherished grandfather of Bairn, Cassidy, Taylor, Danielle, Christina, Jeffrey, Mackenzie, Madison and Caileigh. Predeceased by his three brothers and sister.  Survived by several nieces and nephews. Harvey was a respected Insurance Adjuster and later owned his own Kwik Kopy franchise. He was known as a man of great integrity. He lived a good life with family as his main focus, participating in many activities with his children and grandchildren. Longtime active member of Melrose United Church, serving as Elder, Trustee and fund raiser and in recent years, a member of Smithville United Church. As pastimes he enjoyed painting, reading, golfing, square dancing and playing the organ.  He also had a passion for cars. Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday, March 27 from 6:30 - 9 pm.  The funeral service will be held at Smithville United Church, 116 West Street (Regional Rd 20), Smithville on Friday, March 28 at 11 am.  Private family inurnment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.  The family would like to thank the staff at Albright Manor, Beamsville for their compassionate care of Harvey especially in the past week. In his memory, donations to Albright Manor, Smithville United Church or the Parkinson Society Canada would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home. “We love you.”
