HAINING, JOHN: Peacefully at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital in Dunnville on Sunday, April 13, 2014, John Mclachlan Haining of Smithville passed away in his 78th year. Beloved husband for 54 years of Donna (nee Huber). Loving father of Kevin (Wilma), Gary (Sophia) and Joanne Hine (Kevin). Cherished by his grandchildren Melissa, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Michael, Kristina (Steve), Jonathan (Natasha), Christopher, Dylan and Nickolas and great granddaughter Lia. Dear brother-in-law of Isabell Haining. Predeceased by his brother William Haining, and sisters Margaret Richards and Mary Kinzel. John was a member of Caistor Centre Free Methodist Church, West Lincoln Historical Society, Independent Order of Foresters, a long-time employee of Stelco and a farmer. Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Wednesday, April 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Caistor Centre Free Methodist Church, 8488 Regional Rd 65 (Silver Street), Caistor Centre on Thursday, April 17 at 1:30 pm. Interment Kimbo Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Caistor Centre Free Methodist Church would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home
