CRONIN, JACK: At West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Saturday, October 18, 2014, John Finian Cronin (Jack) passed away at the age of 83. Beloved husband for 60 years of Erika Maria Cronin (nee Stieber). Loving father of Peter Cronin (Margaret) and Katherine Cronin (Hamish Wilson). Cherished grandfather of Ron, Erica, Christopher, Brennan and Peter, and great-grandfather of Mikka and Thorsten. Dear brother of Kay Meade (the late Walter) and Maureen Brennan (Joe), and brother-in-law of Anne Cronin. Predeceased by his brother Paul and parents Christopher and Catharine, all of Dublin, Ireland. A former English teacher and department head for many years at South Lincoln High School in Smithville, he will also be remembered by many colleagues and students. Jack served also with the district Teachers Federation, the Retired Teachers of Ontario, and with the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation, rising to the position of Vice-President. A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held at 25 Kingsway Blvd, Grimsby on Saturday, November 1 from 2-6 pm. If desired, memorial donations to McNally House Hospice would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
