DANTON, JOHN: Peacefully, with family by his side at McNally House Hospice in Grimsby on Monday, November 14, 2011, after a long and valiant battle with cancer, John William Danton of Smithville in his 64th year. Beloved husband of Nancy of 35 years. Missed by children Aaron and Shannon (Desiree), and Rachel and Richard. Dear son of Jessie and the late John M. Danton, and son-in-law of Ruth Buist (Jim). Loving brother to David (Marjorie), the late Bryon, Mark (Debbie), and Jessica Couture, and brother-in-law to Dave (Nancy). He will also be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and cousins. John had retired after 35 years as a school teacher. He was the organist at St. John's Presbyterian Church for many years, and enjoyed being a member of the Geritol Follies. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, November 18 beginning at 11 am at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 10 Mountain Street, Grimsby. The funeral service will follow at 1 pm. Interment Lane Cemetery, St. Anns. If desired, memorial contributions to McNally House or St. John's Presbyterian Church would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
