Obituary of Bert Eggink

EGGINK, BERT:  After fighting a long and courageous battle with a rare blood disorder, Bert Eggink was called home to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2006 in his 54th year; he was surrounded by his loving wife, children, mothers, brothers and sisters and many friends.  Loving Husband and best friend of Dorene, and dear father of Erica (gone to be with Jesus), Brad, Christina and Derrick Postma, Tim and Charity; beloved son of Henny and Geert Eggink (gone to be with his Lord), Freda and Bert Bergman (gone to be with his Lord) and beloved grandson of Dora and Peter VanMarrum (gone to be with his Lord).  Loving brother of John (gone to be with his Lord) and Jenny of Jarvis, Mary and John of Fort St. John, B.C., Helen and Albert of Hagersville, Harry and Diane of Mount Hope, Gary and Marie of Jarvis, George and Betty of Jarvis, Rita and Ross of Port Dover, Jack and Debbie of Jarvis, John and Karen of Caistor Centre, Anita and Lloyd of Fenwick, and Calvin and Janet of Grimsby.  Proud Uncle of 51 nieces and nephews and over 70 great-nieces and great-nephews.  The family would like to express thanks to all the nurses and doctors of Henderson and McMaster Hospitals.  Visitation will be held at the Wellandport Orthodox Reformed Church (74082 Wellandport Road) on Wednesday, July 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  A celebration of Bert's life will also be held at Wellandport Orthodox Reformed Church on Thursday, July 20 at 11 am.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wellandport Christian School would be greatly appreciated, and can be made through the funeral home.
