HOWE, JANE (nee Dalrymple) 1950-2010:  On Saturday, July 17, 2010, after a lengthy battle with cancer, Jane passed away at Winchester Hospital surrounded by the love of her husband and soulmate John Howe.  Loving sister of Bob, sister-in-law of Linda and aunt to her niece Leah, Jane will also be sadly missed by all of the Dalrymple Clan and Howe Family.  An avid gardener, reader and volunteer, Jane grew up and lived in the Smithville area until 2002.   Jane was a member of Smithville Presbyterian Church and Clerk of Session - the third in her family to do so, and the first woman to serve in this position at the Church.  She started her career with the Red Cross at the age of 17 and worked there for 29 years as technician and phlebotomist.  After retirement, she continued to be actively involved with the Canadian Blood Services as Community Volunteer Leader for the Blood Donor Clinics in the Winchester and Chesterville areas.  For her lifetime commitment to the Canadian Blood Services, she was to receive one of seven National Volunteer Awards.  Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Jane’s life will be held at the Smithville Presbyterian Church, 143 St. Catharines Street (Regional Road 20) in Smithville on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 11 am.  Inurnment Union Cemetery.  If desired, memorial contributions to the Smithville Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
