Obituary of John Frederick Wilson
Peacefully at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, on Thursday, December 7, 2023 John Frederick Wilson passed away in his 79th year. He will be missed forever by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Wilson (nee. Stockford). John is remembered by his children Krista (Brad) and Stacey (Frank). His memory lives on with his grandchildren Briar (Dave), Avory (Josh), and Mya. John is survived by his brother Jim and brother Steve (Brenda), and sister-in-law Maryanne. He is predeceased by his mother Elsie, father Fred, brother Freddie and sister-in-law Jenni. He will be missed by all of his extended family and friends.
John most loved spending time with Pat, taking roadtrips and listening to the Beatles as they enjoyed the scenery. Krista and Stacey were his pride and joy and he was an incredible father to them both, welcoming Brad and Frank as if they were his own sons. He was so proud to share photos and news about his granddaughters, who he adored to the ends of the earth. John was a devoted elementary school teacher and lay reader of St. Luke’s Church for many years. He earned the Order of Niagara for volunteer work within the church and the local community.
Visitation will take place at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 216 Station Street, Smithville, on Friday, December 15 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will take place at the church following the visitation. If desired, memorial donations to St. Luke’s Anglican Church would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
