We first met John when we moved to Smithville in 1979. I was teaching in Hamilton and we had a mutual friend, John Walker. Our paths often crossed in town and we used that time to "catch up" on family and friends. He will certainly be missed by the St. Luke's church community. Our condolences to Pat and the family -
Sincerely,
Sue and Eric Hipkiss
I taught many years with John. I found John to be a kind and thoughtful gentleman. He was passionate about his family, teaching and his church. Judy Allan
Uncle John, you made us smile with an Eeyore shirt and a wink. Listing to that Whitney Houston song over and over again ‘The Greatest Love’. You shared your passion for teaching. Shared your pride for raising with Auntie Pat 2 beautiful strong daughters. We loved the stories you told of the adventures and achievements of your amazing grandchildren. Your life of sharing,, caring and loving will always live in our hearts and memories ❤️ XOX Jodi, Keri and Families
Many memories of John and his years of teaching. Julie and Scott Hansford. Always up for a chat! Pat and family, you are in my thoughts.
Hello Krista,
I am thinking about you today. I am so sorry for your loss. I did not have the opportunity to know your father as a teacher, however I can certainly tell by reading his memoir how special and loved he was. I also know that you have acquired his unique gift to engage and inspire young people and what a legacy that you will continue to uphold throughout your career. I am certain that your SWC students are thinking about you as well. My sincere condolences, Kristen J
Krista, I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. Sending my deepest condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. May you cherish the memories made and know that he will live on forever in your hearts! Sending you big hugs and thinking of you.
Mrs Wilson, Krista and Stacey my heartfelt condolences. I have many memories of chats with Mr Wilson. He always took the time to talk and just generally see how things were going. He will be truely missed by many.
John and I were friends and spent many moments both in professional conversations and personal tidbits about our families. I had thoroughly enjoyed teaching both of his and Pat’s girls and was always anxious to hear of their exploits as life enfolded. I felt like I was a real part of the grandchildren’s lives as he recounted their many antics and accomplishments. John spoke lovingly of his relationship with Pat and was always concerned about her health. We had a real connection whenever we met and so I was pleased when John was chosen as the spokesperson and presenter at my retirement now so many years ago. I will miss him dearly. Sincerely, Nola Cartner

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Wilson’s passing. He was such a sweet and friendly gentleman. It didn’t matter where you ran into Mr. Wilson he would always take the time to ask how you were. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. As he would talk about them he always had a sparkle in his eyes. He was an icon at Jacob Beam School never missing a game or event to support and watch his grandchildren! Hugs to all of you!!
