Obituary of Eric Raymond Courage

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts the family of Eric announces his peaceful passing at Heritage Green Nursing Home in Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, October 11th, 2022 in his 77th year. Eric was married to the love of his life and soulmate Joan Courage (nee. Blair) for 53 years. He will forever be missed by his children Cathy (William) Abbott of Smithville and Debbie (Jamie) of Stoney Creek. Very proud Papa of Hunter, Abbigail and Kaylee. Eric is survived by siblings Edmond (Ted) and Diane. Predeceased by his parents Cyril (CL) and Hilma. As well as siblings Guy, Daphne, Cyril (Jr), Doreen, and Dawn. He will be deeply missed and remembered by many family and friends. Eric was born in Buchans, Newfoundland. Eric was an entrepreneur and a pioneer in bringing "window film" to Canada. He was an avid Blue Jay fan and loved watching "Sunday" football, he was never one to back away from a sporting pool or side bet. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and PSW personnel at Heritage Green Nursing Home for all their care and support. Per Eric's wishes, arrangements have been entrusted to Merritt Funeral Home, Smithville and a  private Celebration of life will take place at a later date.
