Obituary of James Karas

KARAS, JAMES: Suddenly at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Sunday June 13, 2021, James Karas (Karatopis) in his 88year.  Loving husband of Kelly Karas (Kalliopi Antoniou) for 62 years.  Dear father of Maria Lazaridis (John), Emmanuel Karatopis, Alexandra Sherman (Ray), Tasso Karatopis and of Stefanos Karatopis.  Grandfather of Peristera, Kalliopi, Bobby, Mimi and Alexei (Lazaridis) and of Kalliopi, Dimitra and Dimitrios (Sherman) and of Tristen Karas, and of two great grandchildren.  Jim will be remembered by two sisters Vasilia and Vagelia in Greece.  Predeceased by one sister Popi.  The Thryce Holy Hymn/Funeral Service will be celebrated at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 585 Niagara Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, June 17 at 11 a.m.  Interment at Smithville United Church Cemetery, 116 West Street (Regional Rd 20), Smithville.  Due to Co-Vid limitations, a maximum of 50 people will be permitted at the church and at cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated by the family.
