HAWKINS, JAMES: Peacefully, surrounded by his family at his home in Smithville on Tuesday, January 1, 2008, James Charles Hawkins in his 65th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Gail Hawkins (nee Burtch) for 43years. Loving dad, friend and companion of Michael and his wife Debbie, and Karen Cake and her husband Steven. Cherished Papa of Carter and Emerson Cake, Shaelen and Ella Hawkins. Dear brother of Joan Mason (Bruce), Ruth Scudieri, Elizabeth McFarlane (Gordon), Kathleen Packham (Craig), and Sandra Wagner. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Rachel Hawkins, brother Rupert, sister Susan, brothers-in-law Philip Wagner and Ronald Scudieri. A memorial service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 11 am at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 216 Station Street in Smithville. Floral tributes gratefully declined. If desired, memorial contributions to St. Luke's Anglican Church or McNally House in Grimsby would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
