MITCHELL, ROLAND: At St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton on Monday, March 25, 2013, Roland Harrison Mitchell of Nanticoke passed away in his 76th year. Beloved husband for 55 years of Ellen Mitchell (Ruscoe). Loving father of Janette Seifried (Stephen) and Sarah Copeland (John). Cherished grandfather of Jennifer Rhodenizer (Charles), Mitchell Copeland, and Rebecca Copeland (Simon Booth). Dear brother of Nancy Raudva (the late Leo), Kathleen Haywood (the late Ronald) and Sheila Chong (Greg). Roland will also be sadly missed by Pauline and William Stewart and many nieces and nephews. Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday, March 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 29 at 1 pm. Inurnment at Smithville United Church Cemetery at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Hamilton Burlington SPCA or charity of your choice would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
