LAIDMAN, Ena Gertrude: Ena passed away at Albright Manor, Beamsville on Monday, July 1st, 2013 in her 95th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Elford (2009), Ena will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Linda (Peter Jordan), son Lyle (Paulette), daughter Debra (Bob Clayson); grandchildren Vanessa & Sean Myers, Brenda & Michael van Hemmen, Angela Clayson, Mark Laidman (Hannah), and great grandchildren Bradley & Colin Myers, and Levi & Abigail van Hemmen. Predeceased by sister Della Senn, and brother Stewart Senn. She will also be missed by brother Leonard Senn & sisters-in-law Jessie Senn, Jean Senn and Donna Thomson, nieces, and nephews. She lived most of her life in Caistor Township, later Legion Villa in Smithville, and Albright Manor in Beamsville. Ena taught for many years, in one room school houses, and later at Caistor Elementary School. Besides teaching, Ena loved to travel, knit & crochet, cook & entertain. She was an active member of Abingdon United Church, and later Ker United Church. Special thanks to the staff of Albright Manor. The family will receive friends at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville, on Thursday July 4th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. Pre-service interment at Abingdon Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorial service at Merritt Funeral Home, Smithville on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Christian Blind Mission would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home. Called home to glory, and resting in Jesus`arms.
