BEAMER, W. LYLE: At Albright Centre in Beamsville on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, William Lyle Beamer in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Vera Winnifred Beamer (Beaty, 1998). Loving father of the late Harold Beamer (July 10, 2007). Survived by his loving daughter-in-law June Beamer. Cherished grandfather of Douglas, Christopher (Tammy) and Bradley (Leah Camacho), and great-grandfather of Rylan. Dear brother of Adam Hugh Beamer (Nova) of Florida. Predeceased by two sisters Ila Davis (and her husband Walter), and Doris White (and her husband Richard), and sisters-in-law Doris Beamer and Helen Beamer. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Lyle was a lifelong member of the Bethel Evangelical Church, and then of Smithville United Church since 1945 where he was an honorary life Elder and Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. He was an employee of R. Murgatroyd & Sons from 1936 to his retirement in 1982. Friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Smithville United Church, 116 West Street (Regional Road 20) on Saturday, April 12 at 10 am. Private interment at the church's adjoining cemetery will precede the service. Special thanks to the 3rd floor nursing staff at Albright Centre and the volunteers from the Rose Cottage that helped make Lyle's last days so peaceful.
