DESBARRES: Arnold and Bev: Suddenly and tragically as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Stephenville, Newfoundland on Saturday, July 14, 2012, Arnold Frederick DesBarres in his 70th year and Beverly Ann DesBarres (nee Cormier) in her 68th year. Arnold and Bev were married for 47 years. Beloved parents of David and his wife Laura DesBarres and Brenda and her husband Randy Taylor. Cherished Nannie and Poppy of Dakota Taylor and Nathan Taylor. Arnold is survived by his siblings Emerson, Gerald (Bonnie), Joan Burke (Carvel), Lester (Gladys), Barb MacPhee, and Donny (Mary). Predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Mary DesBarres, brother Burnell and sister-in-law Dorothy. Bev is survived by her sister-in-law Sheila Cormier and brother-in-law Freddy Henwood. Predeceased by her parents Jude and Alice Cormier, siblings Gornel Cormier, Linda Henwood, Caroline Cormier and Ricky Cormier. Arnold and Bev will also be sadly missed by 20 nieces and nephews, other family members and many close friends. Visitation will be held at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Sunday, July 22 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with Prayers at 7pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours' Catholic Church, 166 West Street (Regional Road 20), Smithville on Monday July 23, 2012 at 11 am. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
