BECHER, HEINZ KARL - Feb. 2, 1935 - Dec. 14, 2012. Born in Karlsruhe, Germany Came to Canada in 1957. The Lord called him home on Friday Dec. 14, 2012. Peacefully surrounded by his family at home in Caistor Centre. Heinz was the beloved husband of Rita (nee Weizenhofer) for 56 years. Loving father (father in law) of Karlheinz-Paul (Sue), Jimmy (Mindy), Terry (Helen), Susan (Andrew). Cherished by his great grandchild Kayden, grandchildren Michael, Ashley, Jessica, Hollie, Carly, Chelsea, Joshua, Meghan also Brandon, Becky and Sarah. Heinz will be fondly remembered by his many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews in Ontario and Germany. A sincere thank you to the home care nurses Barb and Leona. Visitation on Wednesday, December 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours' Roman Catholic Church, 166 West Street (Regional Road 20), Smithville on Thursday, December 20 at 11 am. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
