FAWCETT, HAROLD: Peacefully at his home in Vineland on Monday, November 8, 2010, Harold Clifford Fawcett in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Louise (nee Passmore) for 56 years. Loving father of Patricia and Ed Thiffault, Deborah and Gary Brown, Brenda and David Mundy, and Donald and Linda Fawcett. Cherished grandfather of Chris (Carlissa), Tamara (Serge), Rebecca (Steve), Kevin (Mandi), Shane, Emma (Nigel), Stephen, Amanda, Brian (Ashley), and great-grandfather of Colbin, Kemper, Taylor, Callan, Ashton, and Gabrielle. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Thelma (Arnold) Killins, Keith Fawcett, Doreen Merritt, and Verne (Doris) Fawcett. Harold will also be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Merritts United Church (Church Rd and S. Chippawa Rd) on Thursday, November 11 at 1 pm. Cremation will follow with later inurnment at Merritts United Church Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to Merritts United Church or the St. Catharines General Hospital Oncology Department would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
