HECZKO, JOHN: Peacefully at the Meadows Long Term Care in Ancaster, on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, Jan (John) Mikolaj Heczko in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Irene Heczko. Loving father of Vince and his wife Dorothy, Ed and his wife Lorraine, Henry and his wife Josie and Ella and her husband Jerry Freeman. Cherished grandfather to 11 grandchildren. John will also be remembered by his family in Poland and England. Predeceased by his grandson Jerry Freeman (2006). Friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday from 7-9 pm with Prayers at 7 pm. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, February 6 at 11 am at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, 166 West Street (Regional Road 20) in Smithville with interment at the church's adjoining cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
