GREENWOOD, VIOLET: On Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Welland Hospital, Violet Beatrice Marie Greenwood (nee Slade) of Smithville, in her 81st year. Beloved wife of the late Tony Greenwood. Loving mother of April and Dave Lewis, and Lisa Greenwood. Cherished grandmother of Jocelyn, Mandy, Pieter and Jonathan. Dear sister-in-law of Aileen Slade. Predeceased by her brother Robert (Bob) Slade. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, her special Bingo Buddies, the two Kathy's, and special dinner friends Jim and Char Green. A Service of Commemoration and Wake will be held on Saturday, July 4 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 172 St. Catharine Street, Smithville at 4:00 pm followed by a light supper. If desired, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
