DAVIS, DOROTHY: Peacefully, surrounded by her family at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 9, 2009, Dorothy Louise Davis (nee Comfort) of RR#1 Smithville, in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of Harold Binford Davis for 63 years. Loving mother of Dave and Evelyn, Sharon and Wayne Cosby, Brian and Melanie, Ralph and Karen, Gary and Gale, and Bruce. Cherished grandmother of 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Also survived by her sister-in-law Marjorie Comfort. Predeceased by her brother Murray Comfort, sister Isobel Tuck, and brother-in-law Walt Tuck. Friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Smithville United Church, 116 West Street (Regional Road #20), Smithville on Friday, March 13 at 11 am. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens will precede the service. If desired, memorial contributions to Smithville United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
