Obituary of Gerald Arthur Woodgate

Gerald Arthur Woodgate passed away while receiving care at the GNGH on December 20, 2024 at the age of 81. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (nee. Smith) on February 3, 2024.

Survived by his children Terry Lynn Hetherington (Pete), Margaret Ann Lockhart (Scott) and Jerry John Woodgate. Also survived by several grandchildren and great grand children.Gerald lived his life with tenacity and withfierce independence despite physical challenges. He talked often of trips to Algonquin Park with his father andreminiscened about trips up north with his family.

Thank you to the doctors and nurses in the ICU who took care of our father during his hospital stay. A special thanks to Dr. Masood who was with Gerald in his final moments. Although we are saddened by our father's passing we hope that he has been reunited with our mother whom he missed deeply.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Merritt Funeral Home, Smithville. A celebration of life will happen at a later date.
