Obituary of Margaret Ann Woodgate

Woodgate, Margaret Ann (nee. Smith)

After a brief illness on Saturday, February 3, 2024, Margaret Ann Woodgate passed away in her 79th year. She leaves behind her husband of 60 years Gerry Woodgate. She will be missed by her children Terry-Lynn (Pete), Margaret (Scott), and Jerry John. Margarets memory lives on in the hearts of her grandchildren Shaun (Grace), Sarah (Colin), Megan (Rob), Tasha (Mark), Tristan, Brianne, Carly, Ben (Nicole), and Quinn. She will be remembered by her great-grandchildren Aaliyah, Andrew, Ariyana, August, Liam, and Atlas. Margaret is survived by her brother Bill (Ann) and sister-in-law Merla. She is predeceased by her siblings Jack, Don, Chris, Bob (Cathy), and Gertrude (Huey). Margaret's family would like to extend a special thank you to her Palliative Nurse Practitioner Nicole, Nurse Practioner Lenia, and her Para Med Registered Nurses Iran and Tanya as well as the PSWS who took care of her during the 2 weeks she was able to spend at home.  

Margaret had many struggles over her last seven weeks but her family was blessed to be able to fulfill her wish of being home just for a little while and being able to gather around her when she took her last breath.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Merritt Funeral Home, Smithville. A celebration of Margaret's life will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to Humane Society of Greater Niagara would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
