Condolences
Hazel (Millie) & Jim
We were so saddened to hear of your passing Fred.
you are at peace now and flying high.
We first met you when you came to Scotland in search of Shirrene's family.
We so enjoyed your company and it felt like we had known you for ever.
Jim and I had a lovely holiday in Hamilton where you opened your house to us and took us all over to see some nice areas of your country The Niagara falls being the highlight of our visit .
I think though that the memory that sticks out most though was you at the BBQ no matter what the weather and the lovely food you produced .
Rest in peace Fred ---You will be missed by Shirrene and family and of course your four legged companion.
It was a great pleasure to have known you .

Dear Fred, so sorry to hear of your passing. You were such a gentle man and loved by us both.
When we first met you and Shirrene it was like we had known you both forever.
When we visited you in Hamilton you took us on lots of lovely drives and one in particular was to the Niagara Falls and you and I went on The Maid of the Mist while Jimmy stayed with Shirrene.
We will always remember your love of cooking on the barbecue, you did us many lovely steaks and burgers.
WE both have fond memories of you which will stay with us forever.

I am glad I met Fred through my boyfriend, Gordon. I have to credit Fred with reigniting my interest in hockey. I have watched more hockey since knowing him, than ever in my life. I always enjoyed Fred's company when I'd visit he and Sherry. Fred was always easy going and cheerful -- you would never know if he ever had a bad day. He never brought you down, ever. My favourite memory of Fred is the day he came out of the house wearing summer shorts with, I believe, images of rubber duckies or sharks on them :D He wore them with pride. Rest in peace, Fred. You will forever be missed, never forgotten. Go Leafs! xo

My Dear Uncle Freddy, You were the best uncle anyone could ever have. I was your first niece ,you spoiled me when Gramma and Grampa babysat me on Balmoral. I couldn't wait for you to come home from school to take me for a bike ride on your brown bike with your cardboard delivery box on the back..we bonded.. when you married Aunt Sherry I was 8 and just in awe. I thought you two looked like Elvis and Prisella...It was a standing laugh between the three of us. You had such a great sense of humor and always had a smile. You have been so strong and positive throughout this journey. I love you and you're always in my heart and thoughts. Our last chat we said, " Until We Meet Again" ..See You, Sleep well Uncle..Love you always Deb ( aka-Kiddo )

I remember when my wife, Terri and I visited Fred and Sherrene when they lived on Upper Gage. It was just around Christmas. We went downstairs and the whole downstairs was filled with decorations along with a Christmas tree that looked beautiful. Fred had spent a lot of time decorating and was clearly proud of his results. The downstairs looked lovely and Fred, well, Fred was beaming. Fred clearly loved and cherished the holidays and the time he spent with family and friends. You will be truly missed, Fred.
Friends since the early '60s. Always there for us. Barb and I were at their 1965 wedding. Barb is maid of honor and me as a driver. We enjoyed tours of Hamilton when we returned and Fred was our expert tour guide. Fred was very helpful with building projects. A willing visitor and workmate for projects at Balsam Lake. When work was done, we played a lot of euchres.
For a masquerade party Fred dressed as a woman and no one could recognize him.
Fred loved travel and the outdoors and had many cross-country trips and trips to the lake.
Fred will be sadly missed by Pete and Barb.
I remember our early days on Queen st. Uncle Fred was so much fun and a great role model for us growing up. He always had a smile and encouraging words! From skating on the ice rink (falling down) to trying my skis on in the living room when i got them for Christmas with Uncle Harold. They had fake wind throwing my scarf in the air!! The entire house could have burned down and Uncle Fred would still be asleep in his bed if not touched! I could go on and on about funny times! I have them all dear to my heart. We will miss you Uncle Fred, but always love you.
So very sad I have to write this. I have known Fred for 35 years, Had many great times with him and his Family. Travel to Scotland and Victoria Ireland to visit his son Rod and his Daughter-in-law Lorna. Fred was the nicest kindest guy you could ever meet. I am so glad I had time with him the last half year off his life. Rest in peace my Friend and say Hi to Shawn for me. INGRID
Each and every time seeing Fred in the store has always been bright and cheerful. No matter what, we always laughed and chatted about what plans we each had that we each wanted to do. We would joke around about how we were going to get those plans done. I remember how much I made him laugh when I told him I would make it to a trip even if I would get there by sitting on the wing of the plane. He had the best look on everything and always passed that way on to those around him. Such an blessing to have known such an incredible man .
You will be missed Uncle Fred, many incredible fun times will be in my memories forever. You have been a mentor to me, offering advice my whole life. You will never be forgotten !
Love you, Chris
Supportive, friendly, strong family values, kind and giving...just a few of the many amazing qualities that Fred lived his life by. Having known Fred and Shirrene, Shawn and Brad since high school days, the many hours spent in the family home on 23rd always bring back fond memories. Over the past 40 yrs we have spent many milestone days celebrating lifes events, and I always considered yours as my second family.
Heartfelt condolences for the whole family, as I know these are hard days to get through.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all

I remember the first-time meeting Fred & Shirrene it was Christmas time on Colgate Ave.
I walked into the house and thought somehow, I had stumbled into Santa’s workshop.
Fred took Christmas decorating to a whole different level, it was magical.
Thankful for having to opportunity to get to know you over many years, and to call you friends x
God speed Fred!

I am Uncle Freds' first nephew,on my Mother's side. My Mother was my Aunt Sherrys' sister. In the 60's,our families shared a duplex. At one point, there were six young boys in that duplex. I remember Uncle Fred being the calming influence in a sometimes crazy household. Every winter, my father would make an ice rink in the backyard. Uncle Fred had never skated before, but he decided he was going to learn. Us kids still laugh today, thinking back to watching him learn to skate. If it wasn't for the trees in our backyard he could hang on to,he would not have made it. Most people would have packed it in, but not Uncle Fred. He laughed right along with us kids.Through the years, he was always the same, friendly guy. I got to visit with him a few times during his illness. As always, he was the same, welcoming Uncle. Even though he wasn't feeling well. My Uncle Fred was my favorite Uncle,on my Mother's side, because of his calm, friendly demeanor. I Love you Uncle Fred, and I'll miss you dearly.
Having known Fred and Shirrene for more than twenty years it’s difficult to put into words the sorrow we feel at the loss of not only a friend but a member of our Spiritual family, and the grief that is left behind. What more can one say about Fred than he was a good man, a decent man, and above all else a family man. Nothing was more important to Fred than Shirrene and his family. And we know that, from his new life in the Spiritual Universe, he will continue to surround them with the light of a warm protective smile in the satisfaction of a job well done; yes, my friend, a job well done, good fellow. We mourn the loss of Fred with a tear in our eye but will remember the good times with a warm smile. So, with a glass raised high, here’s to Fred, good fortune in your new life!

To my dear loving brother Freddie. I will love you and miss you forever . You were only 9 yrs old when i was married and moved away, I felt I had deserted you never spending much time with you as you were growing up. I really enjoyed seeing you and your family at family parties and occasional visits for tea and conversation, You always had a laugh when you recalled locking me in the closet. Both Bruce and I will miss you and love you forever. God Bless you brother. Till we meet again. Patricia and Bruce

In memory of our dear friend Fred, we spent many times together at Bingo, playing Euchre, having dinner or just enjoying each other's company. We got to enjoy his company for a few hours just weeks ago even though he was sick he still had his great sense of humor and made us feel welcome. His love for Sherry, his family and friends were unconditional. He will be missed and forever in our hearts.
With our heartfelt sympathy Bob & Bev
