Condolences
Uncle Ellis I always missed you because of distance but loved our chats and how you took care of my husband when he was away from his family working you welcomed him with open arms. Loved hearing your stories of when you took him to your cottage and how you would tease him because he would always say "wicked" how many time I've heard about the trips and I wish I was there with you guys. Now it's a different kind of missing you I will do, I will always love you and talk about you often until we meet again. Sending our condolences to your family.
Uncle Ellis (aka.sockhead)
We met when I was a young girl, you played the squeeze box while I tried to play the spoons beside you. I won't forget our time at ORO camping or cottaging on Christian Island. You and Aunt Pauline always welcomed us. When you drove truck, you always made a point to stop in to see us in BC. Fish and chips at Latntzville pub and almost getting ourselves kicked out. I love you. Say hi to Brad. XO
My goodness, who will look for baby, baby now? Cobo, Panama and crushing will never be the same without you. Christian Island will hold many memories with you and the family. Felix and myself will hold your memories dear to our heart. RIP my friend, we love you and miss you always.
Many folks on Christian Island grew up hearing the sound of Ellis's squeeze box and fondly remember falling asleep listening to it. On behalf of the Randall family, you will truly be missed. Ellis was a dear friend to my dad Norbert and as Dad aged and stayed closer to our cottage Ellis always took time to come over for coffee or a beer. Ellis watched my boys grow up and always had a surprise bag waiting for them from the island store. Christian Island is a special place for all who know and love it, and Ellis contributed to that, no bonfire will be the same without him. Our family has so many fond memories of Ellis, he was kind, loving, musically talented and so much fun to have a beer with. Ellis was the sun that shone on a gray foggy day.
So sorry to hear about Jimmy, I met Jim on the restart back in 2008 and we became great friends, as a young apprentice he taught how to play euchre and told me tons of stories, I was eventually allowed in the swamp buddy gang, with a special wave only few know of. The countless laughs we had over the years when he came up to work at the Bruce I will never forget. He called and text for years after always asking about our family and saying kind words. we will miss Uncle Jimmy (is what i called him).
Thanks for everything and a great friend over the years, you will be missed dearly.

I worked with Jim "Ellis" back in the late 1970's and early 80's building the heavy water towers at Bruce Power. Jim was a good Boilermaker and always ready to help some one out. We laughed every day and it was a joy to work alongside him.
I appreciated Jim visiting my Dad in his final days at the nursing home, this was very much appreciated. He was a good union man and an excellent tradesperson.
Rest in Peace my friend.

Jim was a great neighbour to us. Always a big wave and smile from across the street. We will miss hearing him holler over, his music playing and seeing him enjoy the weather on every sunny day.
We are thinking of Pauline and his family at this time and sending our deepest condolences. Jim was truly one of a kind.
