Obituary of Grace Henderika Homan

Please share a memory of Grace to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

January 17, 1956 to October 25, 2022

On Tuesday afternoon, October 25, 2022, after ten days of illness, the LORD took to Himself His special covenant child, Grace Henderika Homan. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jan† and Rienje† Homan. Dear sister to Gary & Linda† Homan, Jake† Homan, Henry & Annelies Homan, and Edith Homan, and dear sister-in-law to Maria Pereira. Special Aunt to Jennifer & Scott Camden, Jeff & Sandra Homan, Jamie & Melissa Homan; Chris & Stephanie Homan, Jocelyn & Derek Nunes, Bethany & Kevin Valadao; John & Johanna Homan, Francine & John Van Iperen, Irene & Henry Van Iperen, Joanna & Chris de Boer, Dirk & Akke Homan, Heather & Derek Lemstra. She will be greatly missed by the residents and staff of Anchor Home where she resided for almost 36 years, being one of the original residents. She will also be missed by her many great-nieces and great-nephews.

God blessed Grace with the gift of music. She loved to listen to music and could sing every song in the Book of Praise. She could play all the melodies on the keyboard by ear. She will be remembered for her enthusiastic involvement in the Anchor Band, along with her humorous ways of keeping everyone in line.

Visitation to take place on Friday, October 28, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Grassie Canadian Reformed Church, 480 Wolverton Road. The funeral will also take place there on Saturday, October 29 at 11:00 am with Rev. C. Bouwman officiating. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery in Smithville.

Thank you to Anchor Home for truly being a home for Grace all these years. You were all a wonderful blessing for her. Special thanks to Marion Overbeek who was on staff with Grace for many years. Thank you to Albright Manor for their dedicated care over the past months while Grace lived there. Thank you to the wonderful staff at WLMH for their compassionate care.

Memorial donations to the Anchor Association would be appreciated by the family.
