SIMPSON, DONALD: At Kilean Lodge on Friday, October 3, 2008, Donald Simpson of Grimsby and previously of Smithville, in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Paterson) and the late Maude (nee Smithers). Loving father of Brent and Debbie Simpson, Sue (Marie) Talarico, and step-father to Karen Rouselle and Malcolm Ross. Cherished papa of Jeremy, Krista, Justin, Bryce, Jenna, Sarah, Rheanne and Kyle, and great-papa of Bridget. Dear brother of Margaret Roepke and Rose and William Anderson. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by his brothers Bill, Doug, Murray, Dick and Russ and sister Betty Lott. Don was a Past Master of Coronation Lodge #502. Family and friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Friday, October 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with Masonic Service at 7 pm. The memorial service will be held at the Smithville United Church, 116 West Street (Regional Road 20) on Saturday, October 11 at 10 am. Cremation has taken place. Special thanks to Dr. Paul Cano and the Caregivers, Nurses at Kilean Lodge. If desired, memorial contributions to McMaster Children's Hospital would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
