Obituary of Suzanne Arlene Swift
SWIFT, SUZANNE ARLENE (Nee Kiss): passed away peacefully at the McNally House Hospice on March 30th, 2022, in her 62nd year. Suzanne fought a courageous battle with lung cancer for the past year and a half. The loving wife of Jeffery Edward Swift. The devoted mother of Amy (Travis Strohak), Bradley and Emily (Rob Scott) Swift. Suzanne relished in and cherished her role as grandmother to Olivia Swift, Ada Swift, and the grandson on the way. Suzanne was the daughter of predeceased Arlene Stables and Coleman Kiss. The beloved sister of Belinda Kiss-Watts with whom she shared a very special bond. Sister of brothers John, James (Rita) and predeceased Steven Kiss. Suzanne will be missed by her mother in-law Doreen Swift and predeceased father in-law John Swift. Remembered by her sister in-law Deborah (Mike) Firmin, brothers- in-law Rodney (Alaine) Swift and Ted (Teresa) Swift. Along with her many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Suzanne was a kind, generous, loving person whose laughter filled any room. She was a beam of light to all that had the privilege to know her and love her. Some of her passions included traveling and exploring new places with friends or family. As well as boating, golfing, bird watching, reading, singing, and dancing. She enjoyed watching sports such as golf, hockey or football and riling up friends online about the games. Her presence will be sorely missed by so many. A special thank you to Dr. Joan Bellaire, the nurses and personal support workers that provided superb kind and compassionate care. As well as a special thank you to the McNally House Hospice staff and volunteers. Visitation will be held at the Merritt Funeral Home 287 Station Street, Smithville Friday, April 1st from 3:00pm-5:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. Funeral service to be held at the United Church 116 West Street, Smithville Saturday April 2nd at 11:00am. Luncheon to follow the service.
