ZANTINGH, JOHANNES “JOE”  August 2, 1929 - March 27, 2010:  After a lengthy battle with cancer, at McNally House Hospice in Grimsby, the Lord in His infinite wisdom called home his son, Johannes (Joe) Zantingh of Smithville, in his 81st year.  Beloved husband of Eltje (Elly) Zantingh (nee Sinkgraven) for 57 years.  Loving father of Tilda and Don Dam, Karen and Will Lammers, Henry and Janet Zantingh, Ron and Kim Zantingh, Tony and Irma Zantingh, Nancy and Harry DeVries, and Angela and Rick Attema.  Beloved grandfather of 33 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  Dear brother of John and Alida Zantingh, Bert and Fenna Zantingh, Aleda and Mel Rozema, Sienie and Albert Katerberg, Jane and Martin Vanderveen, Henry and Brenda Zantingh, Jerry and Helen Zantingh, and Rhea and Ed De Vries, and brother-in-law of Harm Kelly and Willy Zantingh.  Predeceased by his sister Ali Kelly, brother Rick Zantingh and brother-in-law Bert Van Soelen.  His life was devoted to serving his Lord and Saviour and to his family.  The family will receive friends at the Smithville Christian Reformed Church (6522 Smithville Road) on Tuesday, March 30 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm.  The memorial service will be held at the church on Wednesday, March 31 at 11 am.  Private interment will precede the service.  Our sincere thanks to Dr. Amanda Marrone, Juravinski Cancer Centre, CCAC, the Red Cross and the West Niagara Palliative Care Team for your professional and caring support.  If desired, memorial contributions to the Foundation for Niagara and Hamilton Area Christian Schools or the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
