Dear Mom,
You were truly an amazing woman with a brilliant mind. You passed this gene to your children and grandchildren. We are all truly blessed for this and graciously thank you.
I thank you mom for your guidance and love over my lifetime. I will always remember the times I would call you from veterinary school in tears because I only had so much time left to study for my exam. You ALWAYS knew the right thing to say to me to calm me down. And you know I always passed my exams the next day thanks to you! I only hope one day I will have a small amount of the wisdom and intellect you possessed.
Your mother-to-daughter philosophical discussions with me never went unnoticed and I only hope I can fulfill the life you guided me to live. I always understood your teachings even though you may have thought at the time it went in one ear and out the other! All those conversations throughout my lifetime are all stored in my memory and I respect the knowledge and guidance you have given me. I only hope in some small way I can be just like you!
You were the glue which kept our family bonded together particularly after the sudden and tragic loss of your daughter, our sister, Helen Rose. This was the worst time of your life as a mother. But not only did you come to terms with your own sorrow, you unselfishly guided the rest of the family through this difficult time. Now you are re-united with Helen Rose – God Speed to both of you!
We are all truly blessed to be your husband and children and we hope we can make you proud by living our lives the way you taught us – with honesty and love!
I am going to miss you very much mom. I love you with all my heart and I know you will be forever with me and continuing to guide me. And thank you very much for the symbolic dragonfly! I got the message from `over the rainbow’ loud and clear!
