VOS, FRANCES: Born in Westerbork, The Netherlands on December 15, 1931, Foekje (Frances) Vos (nee Zwaagstra) of Smithville was called Home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at McNally House Hospice in Grimsby in the loving presence of her family. Frances was in her 82nd year and was the beloved wife of Gerrit (George) Vos for 60 years. Loving mother of Arthur Vos (Tina), Jane VanderWier (Adrian), Wilma Acaster (Ron), Lloyd Vos, George Vos (Sharon), Paul Vos (Naomi), John Vos (Nancy) and Jennifer Powell (Mark). Cherished Grandma of 26 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Froukje Snippe (Bert), Frank Zwaagstra, Elisabeth Sypkes (Andre), Ankje Koopman (Jan), Siebe Zwaagstra (Trinie), Sietse Zwaagstra (Fenna), and sister-in-law of Femmie Zwaagstra and Grietje Zwaagstra. Predeceased by brothers Peter, Johannes and Dirk, brother-in-law Nick Hakkenes, and sister-in-law Grace Zwaagstra. The family will receive friends and family at the Smithville Christian Reformed Church (6522 Smithville Rd.) on Tuesday, September 3 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Church on Wednesday, September 4 at 11 a.m. A private family interment at Lane’s Cemetery, St. Anns, will precede the funeral service. If desired, memorial donations to Covenant Christian School would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
