BELL, FRED:  It is with great sadness and beautiful memories that we say a final farewell to our husband, dad and grandpa.  Fred passed away peacefully  surrounded by his family at the John Noble Home in Brantford on Saturday, January 9, 2010, in his 83rd year. Gone to join his precious grandchildren Camilia and Zachary.  Beloved husband of Geraldine Marie Bell (nee Friday) and loving father of Judy and John Terpstra and Sherri and Terry de Wilde.  Cherished grandfather of Steven, Mark, Thomas, Christina, Catrina, Maria and Rebecca.  He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended  family and friends.  Fred was born on a farm in Caistorville and lived there for 79 years.  He loved farming, showing sheep (60 years), dancing, country music and playing cards. Fred worked at the Twenty Inch Mill, Stelco, Hamilton for twenty-six years.  The family will honour Fred's life with visitation at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Tuesday January 12th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours’ Roman Catholic Church, 166 West Street (Regional Road 20), Smithville on Wednesday January 13th at 11:00 am.  Interment at the church’s adjoining cemetery.  If desired, memorial contributions to St. Martin’s Catholic Church, The Alzheimer Society, or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
